Richard L. Farrar is the Senior Consultant with Totus Wealth Management bringing 30-plus years of experience in financial services including his knowledge as a subject matter expert in executive compensation, business succession, insurance analysis, investment allocation, and estate planning. Rick was with Sagemark Consulting, a division of Lincoln Financial Advisors, for 22 years, building a successful wealth management practice, and served as a select member of Lincoln’s Sagemark Consulting Private Wealth Services.
Rick is an avid student of the business furthering his professional development by earning multiple designations including Certified Financial Planner®, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Life Underwriter, Accredited Estate Planner, and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant®. He specializes in working with executives, professionals, and business owners to support them in creating long-term wealth management goals for their families and businesses to ensure a legacy for future generations while enjoying a targeted life-work balance today.
Rick graduated from Samford University in Alabama with a Bachelor of Science with a dual major in Mathematics and Religion. He is a prominent member of his community participating in many initiatives and programs. Rick serves on the Board of Managers at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Foundation Board of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as the former Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees with Baptist Health Systems of Alabama and as Chair of their Governance Committee. Additionally, Rick is an active member of Hunter Street Baptist Church where he has taught Sunday School for more than 30 years. Rick has been a faithful servant in many roles including as a member and Chair of the Personnel Committee and the Deacons. As part of his service with the Baptist Health Foundation, Rick was awarded the King of Sole for three years in a row at the annual Wine, Women and Shoes® fundraiser – which was both a great honor and a lot of fun.
